Disadvantages accompany the advantages above for the impact of entertainment and leisure on one’s personal life. Below, I have listed some of these disadvantages and explained them.
  • Entertainment options such as playing video games can sometimes be rather costly
              - Being one of the most popular entertainment services, video games can be rather costly to stay up to date with. Be this due to expensive systems to run the games, or due to the prices of the games themselves, video games make for an expensive option for entertainment and leisure purposes.
  • There isn’t a great amount of things that older generations can do for entertainment or leisure
              - As technology has developed greatly to provide a great number of things for younger generations to partake in, it seems as though the older generations have been left behind. This is because the amount of things that older people can do in today’s information age is rather limited due to a greater focus being put on younger generations. But regardless of where the focus may be, the fact still remains that older generations have less to do in their spare time, and technology hasn’t helped this situation a great amount.
