Impact on professional life (2)

Disadvantages are also associated with the impact of communication on one’s professional life, regardless of the advantages. These can affect the business in a number of negative ways in some circumstances. Below, I have listed some of these drawbacks and explained them in some depth.
  • Communication is reliant on other services, such as availability of internet or telecoms signal
              - If a business requires off contact a customer or another business for whatever reason, and is unable to due to the unavailability of the necessary services, it looks rather unprofessional on the behalf of the business as they are unable to keep to specific times which they set, and this would fundamentally affect the business' reputation in a rather negative way.
  • Major companies such as Virgin Media for example would receive many calls each day, meaning people have to wait until they are listened to if they phone in.
              - With large companies receiving many calls each day, being able to solve each query can become a difficult task. As a result, some inquirers may be kept waiting and so they will begin to dislike the service they receive from this company. This quite clearly effects the business in a negative way as people dislike having to wait for things, and also the high amount of customers calling in may result in the company rushing between customers, ultimately giving a poor quality of service.
