Although, these working styles are also accompanied by a number of drawbacks, some of which I have listed and explained below.
  • Businesses could become too dependent on certain working styles
              - Companies can develop a dependence on a certain technique due to its ease of use and the familiarity it shares with employees. As a result, without knowing, companies are putting all of their eggs in one basket - if this software fails on them, they will have no other way to complete the required work, and ultimately would have to stop all production, or fall back on accounts.
  • Some workers may not be comfortable with their employers spying on them
              - People are serious about privacy; take Edward Snowden for example. Some workers may feel violated if their employer is spying on them as this destroys any privacy they are entitled to.
  • As technology develops, workers are given more work to do as they can complete more in a given time due to the technological advances
              - When a business decides to switch software and utilise new techniques to complete tasks, workers can complete work at a faster rate, and so as a result of this, hierarchies may decide to delegate a slightly greater amount of work for these employees without giving any form of a pay rise. This causes dispute in
  • Working from home may require Wi-Fi availability - something which may not be always accessible
              - Companies may decide to have all of their workers work from home. In such instance, these workers may require internet connectivity so that they can access the company’s network from their homes, and this could be a problem as not everyone has internet.
