Disadvantages were also close to impossible to think of when thinking of how decision making affects social lives. However, I managed to think of one advantage (which to me can be considered a victory).
  • People may feel peer pressured into getting something
              - If one is surrounded by a group of people who all have one item in common, anyone else with this group may also feel peer pressured into getting this item also to avoid going against the status quo. The media could also have similar effects on someone when with things such as fashion or the latest gadgets. People who are influenced to buy these items may feel peer pressured into buying items which they do not really have much use to them.
