Measures Implemented to Narrow the Divide
A number of significant measures have been put in place in attempt to narrow the digital divide amongst groups of people. These include a number of things such as low-cost computer systems like the Raspberry Pi, or the plans by technology giant, Google, to provide a cheap, global internet access through the use of weather balloons, both of which are targeted towards tacking economic factors of the digital divide. However, these are of just a small representation of the kinds of measures which have been implemented in order to tackle the digital divide – there are many, many more, which between themselves, help to effectively narrow the gap between populations, causing such divide.
