This service is also tailed by a few drawbacks which can sometimes stop people from wanting to use the service totally – these include:
- Sometimes the picture displayed on the website does not completely match the product the customer receives, for example sometimes the colour may vary from the picture on the product that’s been delivered.
- When ordering products online, you don’t get the same experience as actually going out and shopping for yourself. An example of this would be when ordering clothing online, you can’t feel the product, and so when it arrives you may have to send it back because you don’t like the material it is made from.
- Returning products may cost the customer. Other retailers may not even accept returns!
- The customer may have to pay for postage from some retailers.
- Some people are not comfortable with putting their credit card details in on websites, as they may fear someone else getting their credit card details.
- Recent studies show that online shopping may be a factor leading to laziness in many people, as they get everything from the internet using this service, instead of getting up and going out and running their errands themselves.
